Teen of the Month

Community organizations, agencies and members of the Youth Advisory Commission may nominate an outstanding student from area schools to be chosen as Teen of the Month. Nominations may be based on the student's outstanding grade point average (GPA), involvement in school activities, being a superior athlete, or efforts to make a difference at school or in the community.

Lange Luntao

Lincoln High School Junior

Lange Luntao excels at activities in school and out in the community. An active member of Key Club, he has volunteered over 100 community service hours on many projects. Luntao has been active in Link Crew, on yearbook staff and on Student Council. He currently serves as Commissioner of Link Crew, Editor of Yearbook and President of Lincoln's Associated Student Body. He has also been a member of Lincoln's Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

Since 2003, Luntao has belonged to People to People Central Valley Youth Chapter and currently serves as chapter president. He has attended a Gloabl Youth Forum in Atlanta, Georgia, and hopes to attend this year's Youth Peace Camp in Egypt. Last summer, Luntao worked as a classroom assistang in Stockton Unified School District's Migrant Education program. Luntao has participated in several tutoring programs. He is currently active in the California Association of Student Councils and California Association of Student Leaders, and was recently one of the top six students considered for the position of Student Representative to the State Board of Education.

Luntao's future plans include attending a four-year university on the West Coast, majoring in International Relations and Political Science.
