Dental Amalgam
Print this page
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has enacted pretreatment standards to reduce discharges of dental amalgam containing mercury and other metals from dental offices into publicly-owned sewer treatment systems. This includes all dental facilities in the City of Stockton area that discharge wastewater to the City of Stockton's sanitary sewer system.
Existing and new sources must complete and return the one-time compliance report form to the City of Stockton within the required timeframe to certify compliance with these new regulations:
- City of Stockton
- EPA
- Fact Sheet: Effluent Limitations Guidelines and Standards for Dental Offices
- 40 CFR Part 441 - Dental Office Point Source Category
- American Dental Association
- EPA - Amalgam Recycling Rule
- EPA - Reinstates final rule on amalgam separators
- Statement - Gary L. Roberts, DDS, President, American Dental Association
- California Dental Association
