We orchestrate the city-wide camera system for Public Works and Police, manage phones and telecommunication infrastructure, synchronize public safety/utilities radio systems, and more.
Our influence extends even further as we take charge of the City's digital presence, overseeing the maintenance and optimization of the City's intranet and website. Additionally, we proudly manage the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library website, ensuring a seamless online experience for all.

Meet Jamil Niazi, our accomplished IT Director, a seasoned technology
Currently, Jamil is an active member of the cybersecurity subcommittee of the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC) and contributes to the electronic-crimes task force for the U.S. Secret Service, reflecting his dedication to advancing cybersecurity initiatives.
Joining the City of Stockton in October 2023, Jamil brings a wealth of experience as a division manager for infrastructure and cybersecurity. In this role, he oversaw critical areas such as IT infrastructure, 911 public safety systems, video/voice systems, data centers, disaster recovery and continuity, network storage, and various server platforms.
Jamil's extensive government experience includes notable positions, such as Division Manager for the City of Concord, IT Director for the San Francisco Mayor's Office, IT Manager for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, Chief Information Officer for the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, and IT Manager for the Contra Costa Water District. In the private sector, he has made significant contributions to organizations including Alameda Health System, Ross Stores, and Crescent Mortgage Co.
With a proven track record of leadership and a comprehensive understanding of technology in both public service and corporate settings, Jamil Niazi is driving the City of Stockton's IT Department towards new heights of innovation and efficiency.

Senate Bill 272
Approved on October 11, 2015, SB272 adds a section to the California Public Records Act requiring local agencies to create a catalog of Enterprise Systems by July 1, 2016 with annual updates.
