Frequently Asked Questions

Recycling Services

Below, you will find a a list of frequently asked questions regarding the collection of recyclables using your 60-gallon YELLOW-lidded cart.

Please call your service provider's Customer Service Center if you have any questions regarding your service.

Answers:

1

Residents should contact the City's Code Enforcement section when they witness illegal scavenging of the recycling carts. They can be reached at 937-8815.

2

All recyclables should be rinsed and placed loose in the carts. Plastic bags (i.e. grocery store bags or trash bags) are not recyclable in this program.

3

By default, the recycling cart is a 60-gallon wheeled cart with a yellow lid. Residents may request a 30- or 90-gallon recycling cart if either size better suits their needs.

4

All three carts will be picked up on the same day; however, not necessarily at the same time. Each cart will be serviced by a different truck so actual service times may vary.

5

Yes, residents may still recycle their own recyclables if they chose to do so.

However, there are many items that are accepted in the City's curbside recycling program which are not generally accepted at recycling centers. Make sure to call your favorite recycling center to see what they will accept before taking your items over.
