Green Waste and Food Waste Services

Below, you will find a a list of frequently asked questions regarding the collection of green waste and food waste using your 90-gallon GREEN-lidded cart.

Residents should contact the City's Code Enforcement section when they witness illegal dumping in by gardeners or residents. They can be reached at 937-8815.

All three carts are picked up on the same day; however, not necessarily at the same time. Each cart is serviced by a different truck so actual service times may vary.

For convenience, food waste may be placed in a PAPER BAG (not plastic) before adding it to your Green Waste/Food Waste Cart. Since paper is biodegradable, paper milk cartons or newspaper can also be used to collect or wrap food scraps.

The material will be used to make compost, a soil enhancer.  Remember, paper is biodegradable, so any paper milk cartons or newspaper you use to collect or wrap food scraps will also be composted.
