WHAT IS EARTH DAY?
On April 22, 1970, 20 million people across America celebrated the first Earth Day. It was a time when cities were buried under their own smog and polluted rivers caught fire. Now 35 years later, Earth Day is being celebrated around the globe, evolving into a world-wide campaign to protect our global environment.

What’s full of family fun, Earth-friendly, free, and healthy for your body, mind and spirit?

Earth Day's Family Bike Ride, of course!
Be a part of the two and a half mile easy pedal from Earth Day Central at Victory Park, rolling through some of Stockton’s historical neighborhoods, and a serene ride down Shimizu Drive, along Smith Canal. As you enjoy the calmness of the canal, we will cruise past Stockton’s own unique Pixie Woods to the turn-around point. (Bike route map)
Before heading back to the Earth Day festivities at Victory Park, take a refresher, have a drink, a snack and journey back along the scenic drive past the Buddhist Temple, trees in blossom and children playing. Along the route, riders will have the safety of Stockton’s Police Department VIPs - Volunteers in Police Service. When the ride is done, store your bike in the secured and locked bike corral at the Festival.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with prizes for the best environmental costumed bike and/or rider.Release of Liability forms will be available at the registration booth at Victory Park or complete the form located on this website and bring it with you.
