Blake Tatum, Lieutenant
Stockton Police Department

When I was much younger I enjoyed reading about something that interested me, such as a hobby, a sport, or an adventure. As a young man, I liked reading magazines a lot because of the short attention span males have and because of the wealth of information that a magazine article contains. Some of my favorite magazines are

  • Popular Science
  • Popular Mechanics
  • any auto racing magazine that covered the Formula One circuit

As far as novels are concerned naturally I like anything to do with spies and police work. As a young man I liked all of the Clive Cussler novels with Dirk Pitt as the hero.

Dr. Cheuyengther Xiong, Board of Directors

  • The Giver by Lois Lowry
  • Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
  • Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger
  • The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman
