A.J. Jacobs The Year of Living Biblically Very eye opening and much better than I expected. I'm not a fan of non-fiction and this is the first non-fiction book I've finished in about a decade. Jacobs is a good writer and uses the right amount of humor and irony to make it just right. I really enjoyed it.
Edith Wharton Summer I'm loving it so far. It's such a pleasure to read a really well written book.
Christopher Paolini Eldest The 2nd book in the Inheritance Trilogy (first is Eragon). I'm only half way through it, but it's really cool and I like the medival times, and dragons.

james d doss the shaman sings It was a wonderful book. Charlie Moon is a 7ft tall Ute cop, he solves crimes with humor and wit. He gets alot of help from his friend, and fellow lawman, Scott Paris. My favorite though is his aunt, Daisy Perika. She is the shaman in the title. Daisy gets into alot of trouble, but she can usually get out okay (even if charlie thinks He's the one who gets her out of the messes!) All of Doss's books are worth reading!!!

John Irving The Cider House Rules This book deals with a doctor who runs an orphanage circa 1940. He also secretly performs abortions at a time when they were illegal. I was reluctant to read this further since I don't agree with this view. However, I continued reading and the doctor's explanation of how he came do abortions made me more empathetic towards those who decide to use this option.
Unknown Beowulf I read this book because I wanted to know how Beowulf defeats the Grendel. I read about the Grendel in a book about famous monsters that I got from school. It was hard to read and I didn't understand all of it.
Bram Stoker Dracula It wasn't as scary as I was expecting it to be. I was surprised how Dracula was killed in the book. I thought that making someone into a vampire happened right away, but in the book it took a while.
Norton Juster The Phantom Tollbooth My son was reading this in school and I happened to pick it up one day. It's a comical adventure tale of the use and misuse of language that a boy experiences. It's interesting enough for adults too.

Katherine Ayres Family Tree This Family Tree story is a nice story. She never knew her aunts and uncles were. She's just now learning about some things about her dad,her mother died a long time ago. They had to save the baby. If your mother dies before you're born and you're still in the stomach, she doesn't get oxygen so the baby doesn't get oxygen. She was a baby like that. She went to 6th grade with the strictest teacher in school and the teacher Ms.Custer said that the whole year they're combining Science,Social Studies,math,etc. with everybody's first task of the year,... a family tree. You should really read it. It's a fun,interesting story like Missing since Monday,I wrote about that too.
