Linda Chaikin Jamaican Sunset I love this book!!! Linda Chaikin is a tremendous writer! Every one of her books I have enjoyed and loved! I cant wait for some new Novels of hers to come out!
smith mccall, alexander no.1 ladies detective agency a series of books, the 1st of which is the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. I love the characters, insight into another culture, and gentle humor.
elizabeth aston mr darcy's daughters It was a pretty good book. It was written in the style of austen. The characters were well written, but, I didn't care for the twins. They were too much like their Aunt Lydia!!!! A good read.
mr darcy
Stieg Larsson Millennium Trilogy This series of 3 books by this author (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest) are a great summer read . . . or a great read for any time of year actually. Stieg Larsson had the ability to create a group of characters that immediately occupied your mind and made you want to know more about them . . . and as you are drawn into their lives . . . root for them when they overcome the trials that they meet!! It's another opportunity to root for the underdog!!! Unfortunately Mr. Larsson died shortly after submitting these works to his publisher . . . so we will not have the chance to continue to immerse ourselves in their adventures. Alas!! . . . it was a great ride, and a great read!!
stephenie meyer the twilight saga I have read these books twice and I really enjoyed them. They are not only great teenager books but adults will enjoy them too!!
Stephanie Meyer Twilight This book is very good it keeps you on your toes. It makes you want even more and keep on reading.
marjorie eccles last nocturne A very good book. This author always knows how to deliver the goods!
P.C. Cast and Kirsten Cast Burned Great book! You should buy this book! The seventh book in the House of Night series! The books in order are Marked, Betrayed, Chosen, Untamed, Hunted, Tempted, and Burned. The new book Awakened comes out next year! P.S. Have to read the books in order to understand what is going on!
richard paul evans the walk A GREAT BOOK!!!!! I finished reading it in one day, I could not put it down! It is a book about a man who loses everything he cherished, and he decided to take a walk and think things through. He is walking from Washington state to Key West, Florida! It is the beginning of a series and I can hardly wait for the next one! I don't know how to describe it better, but, I think YOU should read it for yourself. Well worth the time!
Sally Gunning Widow's War Excellent historical fiction. Great story teller - I recommend this to anyone looking for well researched fiction.
chris evans the light of burning shadows This was an AMAZING BOOK!! It was a sequel, and unfortunately I don't remember the name of the first, it was a book about an elf named Konowa Swift Dragon, who is a major in the Calahrian military. He was imprisoned at the beginning of the first book, and was brought back to do something for the Queen. He seems to have the luck of the Irish (bad) and murphy's law seems to be written with him in mind!! But both books are EXCELLENT!!! If you like sorcery, military and dang FUNNY books, you will find both of these books well worth the time!!!!!
michael eric dyson can you hear me now? This was a very interesting and thoughtful book. He has an engaging way about him. He made me think about certain things, race and poverty and justice, in a new light. Though I did not agree with a few of his take on things, it was an excellent book, and well worth the read!!
Various Miscellaneous Devotional Literature I love reading just about anything published by my church. What a great way to be inspired and to share faith, bolster belief. Much good comes of this in my life.
Melanie Benjamin Alice I Have Been Historical fiction based on the relationship between Alice Liddell (the "real" Alice in Wonderland) and author Lewis Carroll. The book was both disturbing and engrossing. I am now encouraged to read a true biography of the author to determine what is fact and what is fiction.
Julia Fox Jane Boleyn: The Story of the Infamous Lady Rochford Although the subject was interesting, this was a poorly-written history.
Susie Essman What would Susie say? Susie who? Comedienne and hysterical wife Susie Green, from "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
Miriam Toews The flying Troutmans Enjoyable to read a young, fresh Canadian voiced author.
Temple Grandin Thinking in Pictures A wonderful book by an autistic woman who has a ph.d in animal behavior. She describes how she "thinks" in pictures rather than in language. I highly recommend the book to anyone who wants to expand their knowledge of those who process differently.
The Twilight sage all four of them her other book Host is good too
Eric Puchner Model home Spectacularly dysfunctional family. Yet, from within these deeply flawed characters arises growth, redemption and compassion. A riveting, transformational read.
Rhoda Jantzen Mennonite in a little black dress A laugh-out-loud read. Unexpected traditions and practices about a rarely understood subculture of American society.
Audrey Niffenegger Her Fearful Symmetry Twins, Valentina and Julia live a quiet life with their parents until the day their aunt Elspeth dies and wills the girls her house in London. Mystery and heartbreak engross the twins as they try to discover the mystery betweeen their Aunt Elspeth and their mom, Edie.
Deborah Kogan Hell is Other Parents As a parent, have you ever received unabashed advice? As a non-parent, have you ever dispensed advice? Follow the parenting adventures of Deborah Kogan as she juggles parenthood in the wilds of New York City!
chris knopf short squeeze This was a very good book and very funny too! The wisecracks are fast and furious.
Alice Sebold The Lovely Bones I think that this book is very good. I'm in the beginning-middle so I am not that far into the book. But I love this book so far, and I would definitely share this with my friends.
linda castillo sworn to silence I just finished this book and it was TERRIFIC!! I actually didn't know who did it till near the end, then I thought, NO it can't be THAT PERSON!! A very good book! t
greg mortenson three cups of tea I totally agree with the other person's opinion, this is a WONDERFUL book. Another MUST read!! If only people in the state department could read this, it would hopefully change some peoples attitudes. This is definitely a way to defeat terrorism.
j d robb fantasy in death A totally AWESOME book!!! This author is ALWAYS wonderful, but, this is her best. A MUST READ!!!!!
Greg Mortenson Three Cups of Tea Everybody said it was great, and they were right. This is how to really fight the war on terrorism.
James Patterson Witch and Wizard A very Kafka-esque novel about two teenagers who are arrested in the middle of the night for "crimes against the new order". Will be interesting to see if there is a sequal, as the author definately left room for one.
William P. Young The Shack
jerry doyle have you seen my country lately? This was an EXCELLENT book!!!!! He writes about how we should try to curb BIG government. He realizes that some government spending is necessary, but also sees that at this particular time, maybe we should try to bring DOWN the debt, instead of adding to it.
Anton Chekhov Chekhov: The Major Plays So tragic and beautiful.
