San Joaquin County as a sports destination for local, regional,
state, national and international sports events. Each event will
impact the economy, enhance the area's image, provide entertainment
and participatory opportunities, along with contributing to our
quality of life. |

Stockton
Ports - Minor League BaseballThe City of Stockton is home to one of the winningest minor league baseball teams in the country -- the Stockton Ports (a minor league team of the Oakland Athletics). For more than a decade, Stockton's Class A team has dominated its class and have frequently earned themselves a postseason spot. |

California Cougars Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)Soccer is the most gender-equal sport (45 percent of players are female) and one of top five interactive sports of the Northern California youth/adult market. The MISL is the best professional indoor soccer league in the world. This is a fast action game played in four 15-minute quarters with an average of 59 shots on goal and 11 goals per game. |

Stockton Thunder HockeyStockton Thunder is part of the Premier AA Hockey League, in the National Conference, Pacific Division. The AHL affiliate is the San Antonio Rampage. The NHL affiliate is the Phoenix Coyotes. |

Stockton Lightning Arena2 FootballThe Stockton Lightning is a member of the Arenafootball2 League. Though the league is separate from the AFL, the game is precisely the same. The major difference between Arenafootball2 and the AFL is the size of the home-city. Stockton is a member of af2 while the San Jose Sabercats are members of the AFL. The incredible energy, intensity and high-flying wall to wall action of indoor professional football can be experienced at the Stockton Arena. |

| The City of Stockton's Parks and Recreation Department offers dozens of participatory sporting events for youth and adults, as well as various after school programs. If you enjoy competitive swimming, be sure to visit the Tiger Aquatics website. Tiger Aquatics hold their practices at the University of the Pacific. This organization is a year-round swim team and is open to all levels of swimmers. |
