I enlisted in the Air Force in 1999, as a Reservist when I was called up to active duty after 9/11 for Operations Double Eagle & Enduring Freedom. When I was activated for the war, I met a Stockton Police Officer who had also been activated. He told me the Stockton Police Department is a busy town where I would learn in one year what might take me 10 years somewhere else. I was impressed with the traditions of Stockton as well. I was also attracted to the fact that unlike most departments, the City of Stockton does not deduct for any of my benefits; they pay for them all. I found the salary was also very attractive.
Stockton Police Department has job security, structure, and the potential to work in a special assignment within the first few years, such as K9, Robbery/Homicide, SWAT, Mobile Field Force, Bike Patrol, or Motorcycles, just to name a few. There are many good opportunities for our Officers who work hard.
