Capsule.
The steel capsule measures 3' x 14." It holds more than 200 items
along with dozens of 35mm slides. Although several items have been distributed
by City staff, most have come from community members or groups, churches
and businesses.
Some
of the more unusual items include essays written by school children; a
vial of water from the Stockton Channel; a Duraflame log; an 1800's California
Penal Code book (1897); a millennium teddy bear; and a Sally Savewater
video. A letter from City of Stockton employees is also included.
The
capsule honors the City's 150th birthday (incorporation date), which is
July 23, 2000. |
