Barkleyville Dog Park

Barkleyville, Stockton's first off-leash dog park, is open!

Barkleyville consists of four acres at 5505 Feather River Drive (just south of Fourteen Mile Slough). It is a public park designated and built specifically for your dog to socialize and exercise safely and off-leash.

Barkleyville features three areas: one for big dogs (over 20 lbs.), one for small dogs (20 lbs. and under) and a separate play/agility course. Park amenities include benches, doggie water fountains and waste bags.

Barkleyville is open daily from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. Please note: The park is closed Tuesday mornings for mowing and maintenance.

Barkleyville Dog Park Rules

  • Use of the dog park is a voluntary activity. Users assume the risk of any and all personal injury or property damage associated with the use of the dog park. Owners are legally responsible for their dogs and any injuries caused by them.
  • The Small Dog Area is for dogs 20 lbs. and under. The Large Dog Area is for dogs over 20 lbs. The Agility Course area may be used by all dogs but owners/handlers are responsible for determining their dog’s ability to safely interact with users in that area.
  • The park is open one hour before sunrise and closes one hour after sunset.
  • All dogs must be leashed when entering or leaving the park.
  • Owners/handlers must monitor and control their dogs at all times.
  • Dogs must never be left unattended.
  • Owners must clean up after their dogs.
  • Dogs must have current licenses. City dog license and identification tags must be attached to the dog’s collar.
  • No aggressive dogs allowed. If your dog becomes unruly or plays rough, leash it and leave immediately.
  • For the safety of your dog(s) and other park visitors, choke, prong (pinch) and spike collars are strictly prohibited. If you use these types of collars, remove them before entering the park.
  • No more than 3 dogs per owner/handler are allowed at any one time.
  • Puppies under 4 months of age are not allowed.
  • Spaying/neutering of dogs is recommended. Dogs in season are not allowed.
  • Children eight (8) years old and under are prohibited from entering the off-leash area.
  • Excessive barking is not allowed.
  • Owners/handlers must stop their dogs from digging and are responsible for filling any holes their dog creates.
  • No food or drink - dog or human.
  • Commercial/professional dog training is not permitted unless approved by the City.
  • The City reserves the right to refuse patron access.
  • The leash-free area is subject to closure without notice for maintenance.

Violation of any of the above rules may result in loss of leash-free area privileges and/or citation.
