Children's Dance Classes

 

Ballet Folklorico Autlense

This fun and energetic class is offered by Doria Del Rio, who has over 12 years of experience in Mexican folk dance. Learn how to coordinate footwork, skirt work, and choreography. Class performs at local civic events (performance optional). First graders and older. Must have shoes and practice skirt by end of first month in class.

Pre-School Dance

Increase physical activity, social skills and rhythm through dance. Ages 3-5 learn beginning steps of dance, including ballet, tap and jazz, from Beverly Burke-Baker.

Clogging

This American folk dance is similar to tap dancing, done to almost any kind of upbeat music. A great form of exercise that develops flexibility, increases endurance and strength, relieves stress, and burns around 400 calories per hour.

Round Dance

Round Dance is couple dancing to choreographed routines, similar in rhythm and dance figures to ballroom dance, but led by verbal prompts from instructor.  Students learn figures and terminology in this basic class. Each series will focus on rhythm development and proficiency in one dance, such as Waltz, Salsa, Cha Cha, Swing and others.
