After School Playgrounds

Y.E.S. - Youth Enrichment Services
A federally funded after school program for children in the first through sixth grades. The overall intent is to improve students' academic achievement and success in school. The Y.E.S. program also increases school and community safety and gives a child a positive sense of self and confidence.

Y.E.S. provides an innovative academic focus through the implementation of fun literacy-based programs in collaboration with certified teachers and trained tutors. Activities include arts and crafts, drama, dance and sports.

Schools

John Adams, Rio Calaveras and San Joaquin Elementary School programs are open from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If you would like more information on how your child can be a part of this program contact (209) 937-8293.

A Community Partnership

Participants flourish both socially and academically while engaging positively with trained staff and peers. In a joint effort to expose the participants to community enrichment, the program has partnered with the San Joaquin Office of Education, Stockton Arts Commission, San Joaquin Office of Mental Health Services, Women’s Center of San Joaquin County and Stockton San Joaquin Public Library.

Daily program structure requires children to be signed out by an adult identified on the child’s registration form. The Y.E.S program has limited space and requires a mandatory parent orientation before participation can begin. The orientation, includes mandatory participant attendance (3 hours per day, 5 days a week), grant requirements, and discipline procedures as well as overall program goals and objectives.
