Neighborhood Action Committees
Each neighborhood that the City works with will form a Neighborhood Action Committee (NAC). This is a group of interested residents, business owners, and representatives of organizations within the neighborhood boundaries that are commited to improving their community. Members may be leaders within their neighborhood or folks willing to devote some time to developing a Neighborhood Plan.

The NAC will meeting monthly for up to a year and will plan two to three community-wide events to share their work with others. The NAC members will receive leadership training and will learn how to put a workable neighborhood plan together. Ideas for neighborhood improvements will be brainstormed, categorized, researched and narrowed down to the most realistic and necessary. |
The final list will be presented at a community festival for all residents to vote on. The top ten improvements will be documented in the Neighborhood Plan and presented by the NAC to the City Council.
Once the plan is adopted, the NAC may disband or form itself into a citizen-led group to continue improving the neighborhood or assisting the City in plan implementation. They may even form into a non-profit to apply for grants to fund projects.
