City of Stockton Accepting Applications for San Joaquin Regional Transit District Board
(Stockton, CA) - The City of Stockton is currently accepting applications for one vacancy on the San Joaquin Regional Transit District Board. Full terms are for four (4) years. The applicant selected will serve until October 31, 2013. The appointment is made by the City Council. Applicants must reside in the District and in the city of Stockton for at least one year prior to appointment and may not hold any public office or be employed by the City of Stockton. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at 5:00 p.m.
The San Joaquin Regional Transit District Board supervises and regulates facilities owned and operated by the Transit District, including the fixing of rates, rentals, charges, and classifications. The Board establishes and enforces rules, regulations, contracts, and practices schedule for, or in connection with, any transit facility owned or controlled by the District. Meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month, 3:00 p.m., in the Transit District Office Board Room, 421 E. Weber Avenue. Remuneration is $50 per meeting, not to exceed $100 per month.
