Accepting Applications for Stockton Arts Commission Vacancy

(Stockton, CA) - The City of Stockton is currently accepting applications for one (1) vacancy on the sixteen-member (16) Stockton Arts Commission. Full terms are for four (4) years. The term for this appointment will expire June 30, 2013. Appointments are ratified by the City Council. Applicants must be active in arts and cultural activities; demonstrate interest or accomplishments in fund-raising and in one or more art disciplines; must reside in the city of Stockton; and may not hold any public office or position of employment with the City of Stockton. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at 5:00 p.m.


The Stockton Arts Commission serves as the arts advocacy agency of the City of Stockton and as a catalyst to support, sustain, and strengthen the community by increasing awareness, opportunities and involvement in arts and cultural activities. Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month, 5:00 p.m., at the Philomathean Club, 1000 N. Hunter Street. There is no remuneration.
