City Hall Area Access and Street Closures
Asparagus Festival Preparation and Event

(Stockton, CA) - City Hall and surrounding City of Stockton office buildings are located inside the Asparagus Festival footprint. Set-up for the Asparagus Festival has begun. Streets will be closed and no parking signs will be posted the week of April 20 - April 24, during the Festival April 25 - April 27, and immediately following the festival, through April 28, 2008. Parking and access to buildings within the Festival area will be limited.

City offices within the Festival footprint will change operational hours the week of the festival.

City of Stockton business hours, Monday - Friday, April 21 - 25, 2008:

City Hall - 425 N. El Dorado Street
City Manager’s Office
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday
8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Friday

City Clerk (public records, passports, etc.)
7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday
7:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Friday

Finance Department (business licenses, utility bills, citations, etc.)
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday (closed for lunch, noon - 1:00 p.m.)
8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Friday

Permit Center - 345 N. El Dorado Street
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday (closed for lunch, noon - 1:00 p.m.)
8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Friday

Parks and Recreation Department - 6 E. Lindsay Street
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday
Closed Friday

Cesar Chavez Library - 605 N. El Dorado Street
Closed during the Festival - Friday, Saturday and Sunday
*All other Library branches will be open with regularly scheduled hours of operation

Streets within the Asparagus Festival footprint will be blocked to through traffic and parking will be limited to designated areas. Beginning Sunday, April 20, 2008, Center Street between Oak Street and Weber Avenue will be closed to all vehicles to accommodate set-up of the event and will remain closed until Festival fencing removal is complete, Monday, April 28, 2008.

The following side streets will also be closed to all vehicles:

• Center Street between Oak Street and Weber Avenue
• Fremont Street between Madison and El Dorado Streets
• Commerce Street between Oak and Fremont Streets
• Miner Avenue between Center and El Dorado Streets
• Lindsay Street between Center and El Dorado Streets
• Channel Street between Center and El Dorado Streets
• Civic Court (limited access)

On Sunday, April 27, 2008, Weber Avenue will be closed between San Joaquin Street and Washington Street, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for the Great Spear It Run.

Many streets in the downtown area will be posted with no parking signs. Vehicles parked, stopped, or left standing in posted areas will be cited and towed at the owner's expense.
