Arts Commission announces 2008 awards recipients
STOCKTON - The Stockton Arts Commission invites the community to join them in at the 31st Annual Arts Awards Celebration on October 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bob Hope Theatre.
This year’s awards recipients include: Richard Rios, STAR Award, Bill Humphreys, Career Achievement and John and Pat Quinn of Food 4 Less/San Miguel Markets will receive the Patron Award. Outstanding Achievement Awards will be presented to Bobbie Wallinger for arts education and David Humphreys for the literary arts. The Tidewater Art Center and Gallery is this year’s recipient of the Mayor’s Award.
The celebration will also feature performances by many of the community’s finest artists and a juried art exhibition coordinated by the Tidewater Gallery. Downtown restaurants will provide samples of their specialties and wine tasting will be provided by Delicato Vineyards.
Tickets are $15 (students), $25 (rear orchestra and balcony), $35 (orchestra) and will be available after September 1 available at the Bob Hope Theatre box office at (209) 337-4673 or on-line at www.bobhopetheatre.org.
