Measure WIn November 2004 the voters of Stockton passed Measure W to provide funding for Public Safety using a one quarter cent sales tax. Measure W included the creation of a Citizens Oversight Committee to be appointed by the City Council. The purpose of the Citizens Committee is to review the expenditures of the Measure W monies and report to the City Council on whether the expenditures are consistent with what was promised to the voters in Measure W. Five Year Review of Measure W November 2, 2009 marks the 5 year anniversary of voter approval of Measure W. The revenue received from this quarter cent sales tax has been instrumental in improving police and fire service in the City of Stockton. The City will be reviewing the progress and impact the Measure W funds have had on Public Safety in the last 5 years. If you would like to participate, the program will be reviewed by the Measure W Citizen's Oversight Committee at their meeting on October 22, 2009 in the Economic Development Conference Room, 3rd Floor of City Hall, 425 N. El Dorado Street. Measure W Public Safety Sales Tax Five Year Review Report Measure W:
