Recent Accomplishments

Completed construction of a 21-unit Marquis Place Apartment complex on June 4, 2008.

Completed construction of a 70-unit Villa Montecito Apartment complex for low-income persons.

Began rehabilitation of the 90-unit Kentfield Apartment complex in September 2008.

Began rehabilitation of the 46-unit Villa Monterey Apartment complex.

Provided $20.6M in Strong Neighborhoods Initiative funds to non-profit developers to acquire and rehabilitate the Kentfield and Park Monterey Apartments, acquire the Mariposa Road Property, and to build the Wysteria Apartments. Approximately 274 affordable housing units will ultimately result from these projects.

Completed a combined total of 41 Down Payment Assistance and Housing Assistance (rehabilitation, reconstruction, emergency repair) projects.

Completed reconstruction of the CDBG funded Edna Gleason Park project in fall 2006. The park is an integral part of a six-block master plan revitalization effort in the Gleason Park Neighborhood.

2008/2009 Goals

Complete rehabilitation of 46-unit Villa Monterey Apartment complex by April 2009.

Begin construction of the 95-unit Mercy Apartment complex in the Gleason Park neighborhood by early 2009.

Begin construction of the 16-unit single-family Vintage Plaza townhome project in the Gleason Park neighborhood by Spring 2009.

Complete construction of 65-unit Wysteria Apartment complex by March 2009.

Complete rehabilitation of the 90-unit Kentfield Apartment complex in June 2009.

Complete 14 Housing Rehabilitation and Down Payment Assistance projects and 18 Emergency Repair, Neighborhood Improvement, and Senior Grant projects by June 2009.
