This
is a photo of the first government owned post office building in
Stockton, at the corner of Market and California Streets. The cornerstone
was laid on June 24, 1901. The building was used until 1934, when
the new building was completed at Lindsay and San Joaquin Streets.
The building was later used as the City of Stockton's Hall of Records
before being demolished.
