All work below is scheduled to begin as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
Emergency Railroad Track Repair at South Aurora Street & East Scotts Avenue
Aurora Street between East Scotts Avenue and East Anderson Street is closed to traffic starting on August 23, 2023. The closure is necessary to allow service crews to perform necessary emergency repair work to a BNSF train track near the intersection of S. Aurora St. and E. Scotts Ave. Repair work is expected to be completed by August 28, 2023.
Work on the project is being done by Superior Barricade (Contractor). Traffic signs have been placed to notify drivers of available detours during repairs in the area. Some travel tips to help during the construction:
- Access to all properties in the area will remain open; watch for signs and vehicles when entering and exiting.
- Allow extra time for travel and anticipate some traffic delays while work is occurring.
- Detours include East Hazelton Avenue, East Jefferson Street, and South Stanislaus Street.
