Alexandria Culvert (Updated October 14, 2022)
The City of Stockton is working to replace the culvert at Alexandria Place and Five Mile Slough.

Lincoln Unified Schools Shuttle Service
San Joaquin Regional Transit District (SJ RTD) will provide a free shuttle service for Lincoln Unified School District students during the Alexandria Culvert Replacement Project. The last day of the shuttle service is October 28, 2022.
No Shuttle Service - October 3 - 7
Shuttle Service will be inactive from October 3 - 7, 2022, during Lincoln Unified School District Fall Break.
Morning schedule at Alexandria Pl and Hammer Ln:
- Pickup at 7:00 a.m., estimated drop off at 7:10 a.m.
- Pickup at 7:20 a.m., estimated drop off at 7:30 a.m.
- Pickup at 7:40 a.m., estimated drop off at 7:50 a.m.
- Pickup at 8:00 a.m., estimated drop off at 8:10 a.m.
Afternoon pickup schedule with begin at Alexandria Pl and Benjamin Holt Dr:
- Mondays at 1:50 p.m.
- Tuesdays through Fridays at 2:50 p.m.
Pickups will run continuously each day, Monday through Friday, until 4:10 p.m.
Project Timeline & Cost
The $708,215 construction contract with Sinclair General Engineering, Inc., was approved by the City Council on April 19, 2022.
- The project began on May 31, 2022.
- A partial opening to facilitate local traffic is anticipated by the end of October.
- Alexandria Place will be opened by end of the day on October 31, 2022.
- The sidewalk on the east side of the street will remain closed.
- Pedestrians will be directed to use the sidewalk on the west side of the street.
Street Closures
During construction, approximately May - October 2022, Alexandria Pl will be closed near the construction site. Watch for detour signage, and plan extra time and routes to your destination.
- Southbound Alexandria Pl detour at Meadow Ave
- Northbound Alexandria Pl detour by turning right onto Lincoln Rd
Common destinations in the area that will be impacted during peak traffic hours include:
- Lincoln High School
- Sierra Middle School
- Swenson Golf Course
- Swenson Park
There will be intermittent lane closures starting November 11, 2022, through November 19, 2022. 
Please watch for detour signage and plan extra time and routes to destinations accordingly. Reduce speeds and drive carefully.
Project Background
The City of Stockton Public Works Department prepared a Project Study Report to assess current conditions along Five Mile Slough, which extends eastward 2.7 miles from its confluence with 14 Mile Slough to Pacific Avenue.
The Project Study Report documents address:
- how the slough is intended to function and how it is currently functioning,
- what maintenance is being performed and should be performed,
- who is responsible for the maintenance,
- what can be done to improve the function, and
- permitting required to make the improvements.
