Proper disposal of hazardous waste generated by small businesses is good for the environment and required by law.  Ensuring that hazardous wastes are handled in accordance with Federal and State rules and laws is the responsibility of the business owner. 

 If your business meets the following conditions, your business may qualify to participate in the San Joaquin County Small Business Hazardous Waste Disposal Program: 

  • Generates less than 220 pounds or approximately 27 gallons (liquid) of hazardous waste;
  • Generates less than 2.2 pounds or approximately 1 quart (liquid) of certain original unused products (i.e., acutely hazardous wastes); or
  • Generates less than 110 pounds or approximately 13 gallons (liquid) of perchloroethylene
