The Stockton Police Department is dedicated to making a difference in our community.  The Department is comprised of over 300 sworn Officers and over 150 civilian personnel.  Working as a police officer in Stockton is rewarding and offers a variety of opportunities.

As an Officer with the Stockton Police Department, you patrol assigned areas to ensure the security of life and property.  You enforce state, local, and federal laws and ordinances; restore order; protect life; and maintain peace in our community.  Stockton Police Officers are certified through the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).

Officer Hernandez

 

Officer John Hernandez

Officer Hernandez joined the Stockton Police Department in 2004.  His assignments included Patrol, Field Training Officer, Gang Street Enforcement Team, and Community Police Officer.  He is a member of the Mobile Field Force Team and currently assigned as a Recruiter and Training Coordinator in the Personnel & Training Division.

 

 

Officer Matt ThurlowOfficer Thurlow

Officer Thurlow joined the Stockton Police Department in 2003.  His assignments have included Patrol, Field Training Officer, Community Police Officer, and San Joaquin Regional Transit District Police Officer.  He is currently a member of the Mobile Field Force Team and assigned to the Personnel & Training Division.

 

 

Officer Suzie Zaragoza

Officer Zaragoza

Officer Zaragoza joined the Stockton Police Department in 1992.  Her assignments included Patrol, Bicycle Patrol, and Field Training Officer.  She is a certified Range Master and a member of the Critical Incident Investigation Team.  She is the coordinator of the Stockton Crime Stoppers and oversees the Graffiti Hotline.  She is currently assigned as a Recruiter and Background Investigator in the Personnel & Training section.
