Regulations

The Fire Prevention Division interprets, applies, and enforces the Stockton Municipal Code, California Fire Code, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes and Standards. Links to these codes are provided under External Links below.  A hard copy may also be viewed by visting the Fire Prevention Division.

Code Amendments

Both, the California Building Code and the California Fire Code were amended by local City of Stockton Ordinances.  Links to the Stockton Municipal Code Smoke Detector Amendment and Automatic Fire Sprinkler Amendment are provided under External Links below.

While the Stockton Fire Department contracts for services in San Joaquin County, these ordinances apply to projects constructed in the City.
