Basketball Open Gym 

Open gym for adults and teens at Stribley Community Center.

  • Ages:  Adults 
  • Cost:  $1.00 per day 
  • Days and Times:  Tuesdays and Thursdays 
    • Adults: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. 
    • Teens: 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.   

Fencing

Learn the basics of this romantic, elegant, and athletic Olympic sport from certified USA Fencing Team instructors Maja and Zoran Djurisic. 

  • Train with nationally-ranked athletes of all ages
  • Get in shape and improve balance, agility, hand-eye and hand-foot coordination
  • Have fun and improve focus – for better decision making, problem solving, and fast thinking.

Each class accommodates up to 12 students, and all fencing equipment is provided, including electronic-scoring equipment.  Show up in sneakers, long warm-up pants, and a T-shirt. 

Classes meet twice a week, but the once-a-week is also available.

  • Cost: $135/month 
  • Days and Times:
    • Tuesday:  Youth (ages 11-14)  at 4:00 p.m. /  Juniors and Adults at 5:30 p.m.   
    • Wednesday: Youth  (ages 6-10) at 4:00 p.m. / Juniors and Adults at 5:30 p.m.  
    • Friday: Youth (ages 11-14) at 3:15 p.m. / Juniors and Adults at 4:30 p.m. 
    • Saturday: Youth (ages 6-10) at 12 noon / Juniors and Adults at 1:30 p.m. 

 

Karate 

Classes for kids and adults forming now on a first-come, first-served basis at the Seifert Community Center.  Instruction provided by T. Hawkins.

  • Ages: 4 and up 
  • Cost:  $30 per month
  • Days and Times: Tuesday through Thursday 
    • Kids start time:  5:45 p.m. 
    • Adult start time:  7:00 p.m.   

Soul Line Dancing 

Classes for all ages meet at the Stribley Community Center.  

  • Ages: All Ages  
  • Cost:  Free 
  • Days and Times:  Tuesday and Thursday 
    • 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. 

Tai Chi

Learn this ancient Chinese martial art that combines:

  • slow-moving and graceful exercises,
  • soft circular motions to harmonize mind and body, and
  • mental focus while stretching muscles and joints. 

Great for maintaining a healthy body and a healthy mind.  Instruction provided by Bing Hui.

  • Cost:  $10 per month

    • Tuesdays and Fridays:  11:15 - 12:15 p.m. at Arnold Rue Community Center
