Babysitter Complete

Want to learn more about caring for children?  The Babysitter Complete Course includes:

  • CPR certification,
  • first aid, 
  • emergency and sick children care,
  • indoor and outdoor safety,
  • basic children development, and
  • skills to entertain young children.  

Participants also learn how to write a resume and how to find babysitting jobs. Course certificate and CPR/Pediatric First Aid card are available upon successful completion.

Classes held at the Life First Training Center, 3422 W. Hammer Lane, Suite F.

  • Cost:  $75,  2 day session
  • Days & Times: 
    • Saturday and Sunday, October 24-25
      • 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 

Bricks 4 Kidz Summer Camps

Model Designer 101 Camp

How do LEGO brick model-designers come up with their ideas?  How do ideas go from concept to completion?  Campers discover how different LEGO components can work together to create solid structural models and moving parts.  At the end of camp, each child can present his or her own design.

  • Ages:  6 and up (Limited to 12 campers) 
  • Cost:  $100, 5 day session, 90 minute classes
  • Days & Times:
    • Monday through Friday, June 15-19
      •  1:00 - 2:30 p.m. 

Jr. Robotics/WeDo Camp

Take your child's LEGO experience to the next level. Using LEGO WeDo drag-and-drop software designed specifically for elementary ages, your child will customize their project with sound and motion using sensors and remote controls.  This is an excellent introduction into the world of computer programming and robotics designed to ignite the imagination.

  • Ages:  6 and up 
  • Cost:  $150, 5 day session, 90 minute classes 
  • Days & Times: 
    • Monday through Friday, June 29 - July 3
      • 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.

Comic Creator Camp

Explore the artistic form of comic book design and create your personalized comic.  Create characters, develop story lines, and incorporate pictures of actual sets – all designed with LEGO bricks!  After creating various scenes, campers snap pictures and upload them to create one-of-a-kind comic book. At the end of the week, campers will receive a digital copy of the comic book they created. 

  • Ages:  8 and up (limited to 10 campers)
  • Cost:  $150, 5 day session, 2 hour classes 
  • Days & Times: 
    • Monday through Friday, July 13-17
      • 1:00-3:00 p.m. 

LEGO Robotics Camp 

LEGO Mindstorms EV3 combines classic LEGO building with the world of robotics using motors, sensors, and software.  Students learn how to design and program their own LEGO robot to perform all kinds of tasks.

Class series provide an overview of programming.  Students are encouraged to apply these new skills to problem-solving challenges.  Always popular, these classes are a fun and challenging next step into the world of robotics for the advanced LEGO enthusiast 

  •  Ages:  9 and up (Limited to 10 campers) 
  • Cost:  $225, 5 day session, 2.5 hours 
  • Days and Times:
    • Monday through Friday, July 27-31
      • 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. 

Bricks 4 Kidz Camp

 

Tutoring Classes

Discover Learning Game Tutors and help your school-age child get better grades. Tutors evaluate each student and tailor lesson plans to individual needs, including math, reading, and writing. 

Instruction provided by Erin Chester-Bradt at Quail Lake Baptist Church, 1904 Quail Lakes Drive. 

  • Ages:  6 - 18
  • Cost:  $124 per session or $93 (if less classes that session)
  • Days & Times:
    • Tuesdays and Thursdays

      • 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
