Information Technology Division

Information Technology is responsible for the implementation and management of the City Wide Technology Strategic Plan, which provides guidance and governance for all City technology objectives.


The Information Technology (IT) Division maintains and troubleshoots over 1,600 computers and the network that connects them.  The IT Division also provides support for the city-wide camera system (Public Works/Police), telephones/telecommunication, and public safety/utilities radio systems.  IT ensures City technology projects are well-designed, cost-effective, and conform to technical standards.


IT supports the City’s major business applications including:

  • Finance/Payroll (HTE),
  • Mapping (GIS/Esri),
  • Imaging (OnBase),
  • Police CAD/RMS (Tiburon/Logisys),
  • Fire CAD (Logisys),
  • Fire RMS (Zoll),
  • Library (SIRSI),
  • H/R (NeoGov),
  • Recreation (CLASS), and
  • Asset Management (Avantis/CassWorks).


The IT Division also supports the City’s enterprise-wide network infrastructure which provides fiber connectivity from the Stewart-Eberhardt Building to the Municipal Utilities main office, Fire Station 2, Police Building, and the IT Division at 400 East Main.


Finally, IT supports the City’s internet (StocktonGov.com), intranet (CityLink), and Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library websites.

 

Our Mission

The mission of the IT Division is to provide City staff with innovative, responsive information-technology infrastructure and tools, and to enhance and advance the use of information technology to better serve the citizens of Stockton.

To meet our Mission we:

  • Follow the goals and objectives of the City Wide Technology Strategic Plan.
  • Offer technology innovation leadership and effectively plan strategic technology initiatives.
  • Provide effective technology support for computer, multimedia, voice, video, and web-based applications and services to all City departments.
  • Promote and facilitate the City’s integration of technology through planning, programming, training, consulting, and other support activities.
  • Develop, enhance, and manage the City’s enterprise networks to provide high-speed, transparent, and highly functional connectivity among all information resources.
  • Develop and maintain effective, reliable, secure, and innovative information systems to support the City’s needs.
  • Manage the collection, storage, security and integrity of electronic documents while ensuring appropriate access.
  • Promote new uses of information technology within the City through ongoing research, training, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent ourselves at all times with the highest degree of professional integrity.
