District 3 Vice Mayor Canepa

Biography

Vice Mayor Paul Canepa is serving his first term on the Stockton City Council.  He was elected in November 2010 to represent Council District 3 for the 2011 - 2014 term of office.  He was appointed Vice Mayor on January 29, 2013.

Paul is a lifelong resident of Stockton.  He graduated from St. Mary's High School, received his AA degree from Delta College and Bachelors of Science degree from St. Mary's College.

Paul was elected to the Lincoln Unified School Board in two elections and served as a Trustee for 6 years.  He has served on the City of Stockton Parks and Recreation Commission as the school district liaison for the past 6 years.

Paul manages Canepa's Car Wash, a family business.  As a small business owner and manager, he is focused on economic development, job creation and collaboration with school districts for the purposes of workforce development.  In addition, he is dedicated to working with fellow Councilmembers toward a multi-year solution for Stockton's budget crisis and addressing crime-related issues.

He and his wife, Leslie, have been married for 18 years and they have two children.
