Stockton Sports Commission
Note: This Board is included in the City of Stockton's Conflict of Interest Code and members are required to disclose economic interests held within the jurisdiction of the Board/Commission, by completing a Statement of Economic Interests Form 700 when appointed, as required by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and the City of Stockton.

Appointing Authority:Mayor with City Council Approval upon Executive Board's recommendation
Term of Office:Commission members - four (4) years
Executive Board members - two (2) or four (4) year term Membership:Executive Board composed of an Executive Committee of twenty-five (25)
Honorary members: One-Year term appointed by the Executive Board; an individual and/or entity which supports the Sports Commission financially or in other manners Meeting Date/Location:First Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. Residency Requirements:Must be a resident of the City of Stockton or own and/or operate a business within the City or is a sponsor or associated with a sports related event
Remuneration:Travel/associated costs shall be reimbursed when incurred in the performance of duties while away from the City in accordance with the City's travel allowance policies, provided appropriations for that travel have been included in the Commission's budget and approved by the City Council.
Minimum Qualifications:Be a representative and accomplishment in one or more sports fields or work outside of professional practice in sports fields--demonstrate a deep interest/appreciation of sports activities; or recognized for knowledge of, experience in, or interest in sports;
or collectively, provide a cross-section distribution among the major sports fields with consideration given to recommendations by groups interested in sports fields within the City; or Ex-officio members, without voting rights, may be appointed by the Mayor with concurrence of the City Council, to aid, assist and advise the Commission.
