San Joaquin County Mosquito And Vector Control District

Function:

To provide direction and governance to the District concernign the control of vectors, such as mosquitoes and ticks, and vector-borne diseases, such as West Nile virus and Lyme. Control services are provided to all lands, both private and public, within San Joaquin County and its political subdivisions.

Legal Authority:

Board created pursuant to California Health and Safety Code Section 2240

Appointing Authority:

One appointment by each of seven (7) City Councils in San Joaquin County and four (4) appointments by the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors

Term of Office:

A term of two (2) or four (4) years, at the discretion of the City of Stockton as appointing authority.

Eleven (11)

Third Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m.

Residency Requirements:

Each person appointed by a city council to be a member of the board of trustees shall be a voter and resident of that city (Health and Safety Code 2022 (b)).

Remuneration:

The board of trustees provides for the allowance and payment to each trustee a sum of one hundred dollars ($100) per month for expenses incurred while on official business (Health and Safety Code 2030 (b)).
