The Risk Management Division is the "insurance company" of the City. The Division is charged with the responsibility of making and implementing decisions that minimize the exposure of the City's assets and resources to accidental loss.
The Division supports the following areas;
- Investigation and settlement of Tort Liability Property claims arising from the City's operation as a municipality
- Manage City Property Damage insurance losses
- Services to citizens and special event sponsors to ensure the public's interests are protected with appropriate insurance
- Selection and purchase of all Liability and Property coverages
- Manage Self-Insurance Funds of the City
- Investigation and recovery of damages to City assets caused by individuals and corporate entities
- Provide knowledgeable, professional consulting advice to City departments
- Manage the City's self-insured program in accordance with applicable law
- Reviews insurance contracts with outside contractors and consultants
- Reviews all City contracts
