You have a 30 day grace period to renew.
No penalties apply if you renew by April 30, 2006.

Due dates have been changed to expedite processing of business license renewals. If you have your renewal application form, please complete it and mail it with your payment.

No penalties will be charged on business license renewals that have an April 30, 2006 due date, if the renewals are mailed with payment of tax due and postmarked by the United States Post Office on or before
April 30, 2006.

Effective 2006 your business license has a new renewal date.
The City Council has approved changes that will vary renewal dates for existing licenses, based on the license classification.  Commercial and residential rental license renewals will be delinquent if not paid by February 28th, retail and professional will be delinquent if not paid by April 30th and the remaining business classifications will be due at various times throughout the year.

Renewal applications will be sent to businesses about 45 days before their new renewal date.  Most businesses can renew their license by mail.   The renewal tax will be for the period from the expiration date of your 2005 license to the new expiration date.  During this transition year, some license classifications will be required to pay for a period of more than 12 months and for others it will be less.  The renewal application will explain how to calculate your taxes due.

Please contact the City of Stockton Business Licensing Unit if you do not receive a renewal notice in the mail before the end of the new renewal month that applies to you.
