Section 6-004 of the Stockton Municipal Code requires any person or business that conducts business in the city limits of Stockton to have a business license.

To obtain a business license:
1. Fill out an application/from (download above). Print one copy for the City and a copy for your records. Or pick up an application from the Finance Department in City Hall (425 N. El Dorado Street, first floor).

2. Return the completed application to Administrative Services, Business License Division, at City Hall (1st floor), City of Stockton, 425 N. El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA, 95202, or mail to City of Stockton, P.O. Box 1570, Stockton, CA 95201-1570

Note: If you have a question regarding a Home Occupation Permit (H.O.P.), please contact the Community Development Department - Planning, at (209) 937-8266.

The Finance Department is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am - Noon and 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
