Public Art in Stockton
Looking for Jurors for Public Art Selection Jury
 |
The City of Stockton is establishing a Selection Jury to select artists for the creation of Public Art within the City. We are looking for artists, those with knowledge of the public art realm, and community members to serve on the Selection Jury. |
| The Jury will meet three or four times to review proposals and select an artist for a public art project. The meeting to interview the artists could last several hours depending on the number of artists to be interviewed. |
| The artists on the Jury should have a body of work, should have exhibited in recognized shows and should have sold their work. Community members on the Jury should be active in their neighborhoods, know their community members and neighborhood concerns. All jurors should be articulate in discussing their reasons for choosing an artist for a project and be ready to defend and support the decisions of their selection jury and the process involved in selecting an artist for a particular project. |
 |
The Jury members will become part of a pool. The pool will be used as a source of jurors who may be called upon to serve on more than one jury during the course of a year.
Applicants will be interviewed by the Public Art Advisory Committee.
If you are interested and have the time to serve, please complete the appropriate application form and mail it to:
