The Public Art Advisory Committee works under the auspices of the Stockton Arts Commission. It oversees and manages all public arts projects, delegating tasks to staff. Those selected are appointed to three year terms after review/approval by the Public Art Advisory Committee and the City Council.
Qualifications
Applicants should have some combination of the following qualifications: employment as a professional visual artist; skills in public art, broad knowledge of regional/national artist and their work; employment as a critic of visual art; been living in Stockton for at least three years; evidence of decision-making ability; willingness to tolerate change and new artistic design/expression; knowlwdge of issues and individuals within the community; appreciation for ethnicity/gender diversity; knowledge of the Stockton Public Art Plan (SMC #3-095).
