How to Report a Dead Animal

To report a dead animal on city surface streets, you will need to provide the following information:

location of the animal
your name, address, and telephone number
type of dead animal
Detailed information if it is a cat or a dog (e.g. breed, color, size of dog, distinguishing marks and if it is wearing a collar)

You can report these details by calling the City of Stockton/San Joaquin County Animal Shelter at (209) 937-8274 or (209) 937-8377 (after hours).

If the animal is on a public highway, please contact Caltrans at (209) 948-7977.
