SEC. 10-270. REQUIRED:
Every emergency ambulance shall carry a valid California Highway Patrol Inspection Permit authorizing the use of the vehicles as an ambulance.

SEC. 10-271. INSPECTION:
The ambulance provider shall allow the permit officer or designee to inspect, on a preannounced or unannounced basis all ambulances used to provide ambulance service. The inspections should be held, whenever possible, during normal business hours. The purpose of such inspections may include, but shall not be limited to, determining if:
1. the ambulance is property maintained and equipped for the provision of ambulance service;
2. the description of the ambulance, required by Section 10-212 is accurate;
3. the ambulance contains radios, that the radios are in good working order, and that the radios are compatible with emergency medical communications system.
