LOCATION AND MAINTENANCE OF VETERINARY HOSPITALS
SEC. 7-145. SANITARY REQUIREMENTS FOR BUILDINGS USED AS VETERINARY HOSPITALS:
Any and all buildings used or designed to be used as a hospital for the care
and treatment of animals suffering from or afflicted with sickness or disease,
shall be so constructed as to be sanitary and shall be maintained so as not to
be offensive or endanger the public health or comfort.
SEC. 7-145.1. LOCATION OF VETERINARY HOSPITALS:
The business of carrying on and conducting a veterinary hospital for the care
and treatment of animals suffering from or afflicted with any sickness or
disease, shall not be prosecuted in any building or structure whose frontage
or sides are located or placed within thirty-five (35) feet of any dwelling
house or building used for residence purposes, provided, however, that the
rear portion of such building or structure may be so located or placed within
fifteen (15) feet of such dwelling or residence.
SEC. 7-145.2. DISPOSAL OF DEAD ANIMALS:
The Animal Control Supervisor or his assistants shall, upon request of a veterinary
hospital, collect and dispose of dead animals. The Animal Control Supervisor
or his assistants shall require the hospital to place dead animals in containers
or freezers prior to collection, and to suture or bag all dead animals upon
which autopsies or other operative procedures have been performed. Veterinary
hospitals shall be billed monthly by the Finance Department, for collection
and disposal services, according to the following fee schedule:
Cats: $ .50 plus , $5.00 per call.
Dogs and Other Animals: $1.00 plus, $5.00 per call.
The Animal Control Supervisor shall include in the monthly pound report sufficient
information to facilitate billing.
