Chapter 5 - PUBLIC WELFARE, MORALS AND POLICY

MOORING OF VESSELS


SEC. 5-550. VESSEL DEFINED:

"Vessel" includes every description of watercraft used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on water, as defined in Section 651 (c) of the Harbors and Navigations Code of the State of California, as it now exists or may hereafter be amended.

SEC. 5-551. PUBLIC WATERWAY DEFINED:

"Public Waterways" includes every public river, bay, slough, lake or canal, within the city.

SEC. 5-552. MOORING RESTRICTIONS:

(1) No person shall anchor within any public waterway, or moor or make fast any vessel to any float, wharf, pier, harbor facility or structure of any kind and leave unattended in any public waterway within the City without the consent of the owner, agent or person in lawful possession or control of the public waterway, float, wharf, pier, harbor facility or structure.

(2) It shall be unlawful for the owner or operator of any vessel that is anchored in any public waterway or operator of any vessel that is made fast or moored to any float, wharf, pier, harbor facility or structure of any kind in any public waterway to fail or refuse to immediately remove such vessel therefrom after being notified to do so by the owner, agent or person in lawful possession or control of any public waterway, float, wharf, pier, harbor facility structure.

SEC. 5-553. REDEMPTION OF IMPOUNDED VEHICLES:

Any vessel which has been impounded for violation of this Part may be redeemed and taken away upon payment of fees and charges fixed and set from time to time by resolution of Council.
