EMPLOYMENT OF FORMER REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY EMPLOYEES

SEC. 2-120. ADOPTION:
This Part is adopted pursuant to Article X, of the Charter of the City of Stockton to prescribe the qualifications and conditions applicable to the employment by the City of former employees of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Stockton, in order that the City of Stockton may perform staffing functions for the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Stockton.

SEC. 2-121. CLASSIFICATION:
The City Manager may employ any former Redevelopment Agency employee in any position exempted from the competitive service by Section 2-006 of this Code. The City Manager may employ any former Redevelopment Agency employee in a position included in the competitive service, without the necessity of examination, provided that the position is determined by the City Manager to be substantially equivalent to the position which the employee formerly held with the Redevelopment Agency, and provided further that the City Manager is satisfied that the employee has a satisfactory record of performance in such position with the Redevelopment Agency.

SEC. 2-122. SALARIES:
The City Manager shall designate the appropriate step in the City salary scale, or the appropriate salary within the executive incentive plan range, for each person employed pursuant to this Part.

SEC. 2-123. ACCRUED LEAVE:
Any person employed pursuant to this Part shall be credited with the amount of annual leave and sick leave accrued and unused during employment with the Redevelopment Agency.

SEC. 2-124. CREDIT FOR SERVICE WITH REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY:
Any person employed pursuant to this Part shall be credited for all seniority purposes with the period of employment by the Redevelopment Agency.

SEC. 2-125. RATIFICATION:
The employment by the City Manager of any person in accordance with the provisions of this Part but prior to the effective date of the Ordinance adopting this Part is hereby ratified.
