Through
the redevelopment process, designated project areas receive
focused attention and financial investment to reverse deteriorating
trends, create jobs, revitalize the business climate, rehabilitate
and add to the housing stock, and gain active participation
and investment by citizens that would not otherwise occur.

Redevelopment
is a process created by California State law to assist city
and county governments in eliminating blight from designated
areas and to attract development, reconstruction and rehabilitation
of deteriorated urban settings. Redevelopment
has proven to be one of the most effective ways to breathe new
life into areas plagued by social, physical, environmental and
economic conditions which act as barriers to new investment
by private enterprise. |
