The City of Stockton
offers a program to reduce or eliminate building permit and associated
public facilities fees for many downtown projects. If the
project rehabilitates
an existing downtown building that has been vacant for six (6)
months or longer, most permit fees will be waived. Demolitions,
new construction, or expansions do not qualify.
An application is required
prior to applying for a permit and can be obtained
from the City's Housing & Redevelopment Department or the
Downtown Stockton Alliance.
The program boundary
includes the Downtown
Stockton Business Improvement District.
Contact the Downtown
Stockton Alliance at (209) 464-5246 to find out if your project
qualifies. For additional information or to obtain an application,
call the City's Redevelopment Department at (209)
937-8539 or email redevelopment@ci.stockton.ca.us.
NOTE: Downtown commercial property owners may also be eligible to receive funding through the City's Commercial Facade Improvement Forgivable Loan Program to make improvements to the exterior of the building. To find out if your building qualifies, click here. |
