STORMWATER INSPECTION PROGRAMS

The City of Stockton’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit requires inspection of all commercial businesses that fall within specific sectors including: auto body shops, auto dealers, auto repair shops, dry cleaners, equipment rentals, kennels, nurseries, gas stations and restaurants/food services facilities.  This requirement also applies to all industrial facilities which have coverage under the General Industrial Permit. These inspections must be performed twice during each 5-year permit term.  The first round of inspections was completed in June 2005.  The second, and final round of inspections under this permit, must be completed by October 2007. Additional inspections may be required for businesses that are not in compliance.  The City has contracted with WGR Southwest to provide the commercial inspections and Condor Earth Technologies to provide the industrial inspections.  To help cover this cost, there is an inspection fee for each required inspection.  Commercial inspections will be billed at $97.14 per inspection and industrial inspections will be billed at $306.04 per inspection.  For more information, click on the links below or contact Courtney Malcolm at (209) 937-8706 or by email .

The City of Stockton also conducts monthly inspections of construction sites required to file a Notice of Intent (NOI) with the State Water Resources Control Board.  For more information, click below.
