The HOME Program Grant is funded from the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990 and its provision for the HOME Investment Partnerships. This act provides for the participating cities to tailor housing strategies to meet local needs. Using these funds, the City of Stockton can achieve its housing goals by targeting monies to specific areas or by prioritizing housing needs. The funds will be used to leverage state and private funding to acquire, rehabilitate and/or construct housing units. Depending on the particular project, funding and long-term affordability goals, these activities will be carried out by for-profit developers and non-profit Community Housing Development Organizations.
