
Community Development Block Grant
funds are allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to be used in pursuing the national objectives of providing benefits to low and moderate income persons, eliminating slums and blight, and meeting an urgent community need.
Within the framework of the
national objectives, the City of Stockton
Housing Department has also established
broad local community development
objectives which are intended to benefit
low and moderate income households.
These local objectives are:
- Housing and neighborhood preservation including new housing opportunities
- Economic development through job retention and creation activities
- Pursuit of public facilities and improvements
- Elimination of blight and unsightly elements
- Implementation of special programs offering significant community benefit.
The City of Stockton Housing Department has concluded accepting applications for its 2008-2009 CDBG and ESG allocations.
