- New Green Medical Center-
A new 87,940 s.f medical center located across the street from St. Joseph's Hospital in Stockton promises to provide eco-friendly building solution as well as first-rate health services. The Gill Medical Center is being constructed using a number of "green" building materials that are free of harmful elements- these materials will help to conserve energy and water. Design elements such as a 2 level parking facility and shade producing landscaping will help to reduce heat and vehicle pollution. The new building will even offer visitors the use of a on-site bank, thereby minimizing additional vehicle trips and carbon emissions.
The building will be in compliance with the City of Stockton's Green Building Policy, which requires that all municipal buildings over 5,000 square feet be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified. The project is expected to earn a Platinum Green Certification, the highest level of LEED certification!
