Councilmember Diana Lowery
Councilmember Diana Lowery is serving her first term on the Stockton City Council. She was elected in November 2008 to represent Council District 4 for the 2009 – 2012 term of office. She served as a City of Stockton Planning Commissioner for eight years from 1997 to 2004, serving as both Chair and Vice Chair.
Councilmember Lowery has been a self-employed small business owner for over 35 years in Stockton. She has an Associate of Arts degree from San Joaquin Delta College and has attended University of California, Davis. She has served in many community volunteer groups, including serving as both President and Vice President of the Stockton Sister Cities Association and is Chair of Parma, Italy projects.

Her expertise and heritage has been recognized by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger with an appointment to the California Italian-American Task Force. Most recognized by generations of Stockton’s youth as “Sally-Save-Water”, she has won numerous awards and recognition for water conservation and pollution prevention educational programs.
Councilmember Lowery is a 4th generation Stocktonian; she is married and has one son, who is married and lives in Stockton with his family.
Her focus and vision for Stockton is for safe neighborhoods, family-wage jobs, and opportunities for youth. With dedication and accountability, she is committed to addressing issues of crime, improving neighborhoods, increasing educational opportunities, and job creation. |
